Boys, while it is nice to see so many former AFL players wanting to comment on the SBC exam preparation page (comments since deleted), might I suggest that you don't have time to be wasting sending stupid comments, and I've got better things to do than speak with the IT guys to investigate who is wasting their class time writing stupid blog comments! Page 45 has some information on different types of appeals, and page 46 lists and defines some of the persuasive appeals that you may come across in the exam! 

Mr Torpey's classes: Have a go at Chapter 16 at the end of your textbook, This will help you in preparation for section three of the exam. 

In this section I will be posting some ideas for you to use to help prepare for your exam. You can use it to share ideas with each other, or ask me questions (you can also use the form on the home page to ask questions if you don't want everyone else to see what you are writing)

For your first piece of revision work, have a look at the letters section of the newspaper (Age or Herald Sun). Pick two or three letters, and read them. Ask yourself: "What is the issue? What is the author's contention? How is the author trying to persuade me?"
